Useful information

Questions about the wedding?  You've found the right spot! As the date nears, we will be including more information about our special day.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is formal, so please bring your finest attire! For the ladies, there's no particular tone you should avoid or themes to follow.

How do I get to / return from Soto de Gracia?

We will be providing a coach service from downtown Madrid to Soto de Gracia, so watch this space! Alternatively, there will be Uber / VTC services available. The journey from downtown Madrid to Soto de Gracia should be 30 to 45 minutes dependant on traffic.

Additionally, we will providing a coach service from Soto de Gracia to downtown Madrid at the end of the event, so watch this space! Alternatively, you can arrange Uber / VTC service to take you back to your accommodation.

To get the numbers right, we'd highly recommend filling in our RSVP form promptly as that will allow us to plan the transport more efficiently.

I would like to make a gift.

The most important thing about our wedding is your presence! However, if you would like to make us a gift, we'd love a contribution towards our small honeymoon. Please see details here

Can I bring my child?

We will be holding an adults-only event and will welcome newborns or babies who are nursing. We hope you understand our decision;  if you need childcare guidance, please get in touch with us to discuss suitable options for the day.

When do you recommend to travel to Madrid?

This will be dependant on your preference, however we recommend if possible, at least travelling the evening prior to avoid any last minute mishaps.

Staying in Madrid

If you're coming from abroad, you may want to make the most of the wedding weekend to get to know this beautiful centuries old city! This is why, we have included here a few suggestions that may help with your planning.

I. Where should we book accommodation?
This is a personal choice, but if you want to stay closer to the venue, we recommend staying in the North part of Madrid, near Plaza de Castilla.

II. How much time do I need to explore the city of Madrid?
A long weekend (4 full days incl. travel) normally suffices, but it depends whether museums are included in your visit. If they aren't please allow maybe an extra half day for that.

III. Do I need to rent a car?
If you're staying in the city of Madrid, the short answer is no. Madrid is a very walkable city, has incredible public transport and if really necessary, taxis can take you anywhere.

IV. Do I need to pay in cash? The city largely operates with cashless payments but it is always safe to have some cash. While we don't tip large amounts at restaurants, we do try to have cash to tip at the end of the meal.

V. Is it a safe city? It absolutely is, much safer than other European cities. However, please be vigilant, pickpockets operate everywhere, in crowded squares, in the tube, so we highly recommend to watch out for your belongings.
